Choose the hard way or you will get nowhere
1.- How ex-professional players who become professional coaches the day after they retire, then after a few months when they don’t find success in their teams, a big % of them never train anymore. In this trend, in this type of bets, the presidents and owners of clubs are thinking about the most important thing in their clubs?, what should the players be? And the meritology of both, coaches and players? Should this trend pass?, which has reached the sporting directors?, maybe denotes a lack of professionalism and denigrates the coach profession?
2. How do we have to protect the younger talents?, nowadays, because many clubs do not function with common sense and balance, and then young players have to play in the eleven in the best teams this is this good for them? They are very talented but don’t forget that most of them are still learning basic fundamentals.
Here I leave this interesting article about how the easy path rarely leads to extraordinary experiences and sports excellence
I find interesting this article.
Choose the hard way or you will get nowhere
I still remember it well, it was in a training session; one of many, and there were many. And it was also one of many things that are said or told, just one more. But for some reason it remained in my memory, it captivated me, and I managed to retain it. I have always kept her in mind in my decisions, both in life and in business. And I haven’t regretted it even once.
I can still clearly see the drawing, made with blue marker on the whiteboard. A high, very high mountain, with a narrow, lonely, steep and zigzagging path that led to the top. And on the top, a sign that said “SUCCESS”.
Next to that mountain a wide highway with many lanes. And many cars moving happily through it. Everyone was on the highway.
The moral of the story is that there is only one way to success. And that path is never easy. If it were easy, everyone would be successful, and we would all be rich and happy; And everything would be pink and, you know, we’d eat partridges. But that is not how things work.
Success is a ladder that is climbed step by step. There are no elevators or shortcuts to the important things in life.
The story also tells that the difficult road obviously entails many difficulties. To begin with, it is a path where you go by yourself, and that makes you constantly wonder what you are doing there, what you intend to demonstrate, and to whom. Why do you go around while everyone else goes another way? The backpack of stubborn loneliness is so heavy …
It is also a slow path, always uphill, full of dust and stones, which makes you tired, sweat and suffer at every step. The idea of throwing in the towel is persistent, especially when you see what is still missing to reach the top. It seems unattainable. And your inner voice does not stop for a moment, it does not give a minute of calm.
As you go through it, alone and suffering, you see the cars go by on the highway, fast and happy, with loud music and the air conditioning on. You hear their laughter and at every bend in the road, you look askance at the gentle slopes that would put you on the highway in no time, a gentle walk downhill and everything would be over in a moment, what a temptation!
What keeps you on track against everything and everyone? You’re still there?
You have a strong determination not to give up. And a lot of discipline and control to follow. And high expectations and a very clear visualization of what awaits you at the top, the prize, what you are going to achieve at the top. Also a bomb-proof self-esteem. Because the internal and external bombardment does not stop. How easy it would be to give up, let go, abandon …
And, you know, the important thing is not the prize, it is not what awaits you upstairs. The important thing is not the destination, but the path. It is what you transform into by walking the path, overcoming one challenge after another, developing new qualities such as discipline, effort or perseverance. It is a transformative journey, the person who begins and ends it is not the same person, you have become something different, more capable of facing new challenges, of growing. You are more and you have more scope, now you can see further. And you have the confidence that you can meet the new challenges, you just proved it.
If you look a little bit, you will see that everyone chooses the easy way, everyone goes on the highway. They will tell you no, they don’t. But don’t believe it, observe, it’s almost never true. Most of the people prefer to take diet pills than to diet and sports. But the pills don’t work. How do I know? Easy, if they worked there would no longer be anyone fat. But it’s easy to believe that yes, they work, and it’s easy to take them.
I remember years ago when a lot of people took early retirement and started a bar. It was good business then, now most of them aren’t, not anymore. Then video stores became fashionable, remember? There are hardly any left. Recently there have been electronic cigarette stores. This has lasted less, it has been seen and not seen. And I’m sure I’m forgetting someone else, right?
It is not the same to join a franchise than to create one yourself. The effort, the investment, the time and the risk are very different, and the benefit too. You have to be fair, to catch fish, “you have to get your ass wet.”
And in the studies the same. Races that become fashionable, where people queue up and soon they stop having it. The professional exit through that door is over. Lots of graduates out of work.
We move en masse, we enter full bars and we do not enter those that are empty: “it will be for a reason and I am not going to be the fool, it is better to be sure.”
The Americans call it “stupid think” people believe and that people follow. And it is that it is more comfortable to continue and not think, than to think and confront everyone else. And finally fail. Who faces failure in public. It is better to fail globally, it is easier to find culprits, but to fail alone is something else… who am I going to blame!
When I finally decided to start my own business, I remember that I took the car and some plane. I had my ideas clear, but I also wanted to see and know what others had done. And receive your opinion and inspiration. I mean, my ideas were clear but my mind was open.
I remember that almost everyone did similar things and that they were very far from my vision. Or I was with theirs. I also remember that everyone, unanimously, recommended that I not develop a certain project that I wanted to do and that, in addition to being difficult, it was expensive. They assured me that I would be wrong and regret it.
Difficult decision, because that was the center and the bottom of my great challenge. I went through my notes, and analyzed it to the best of my ability and knowledge. And I chose the hard way, I took a risk.
By now, almost two years have passed and I can say that I am very happy with the decision I made, although I had my doubts and my fears.
Most of those I visited are no longer on the highway, it makes no sense to do kilometers without a destination, in the end you get tired, they have left by secondary roads. I continue my way, slowly, I feel that I am going well, that every day I am closer, I can already see the top. And I begin to believe that I will arrive. Now the climb doesn’t seem so difficult, it doesn’t cost that much.
Like the drawing, a phrase I heard also remains in my mind:
The easy roads lead nowhere.
What do you think? Do you have an example about it? Anything to share? Down here you can. Dare, it’s not that difficult.
