Be a Football (Soccer) Coach seems like attractive job to most, but it is a HARD PROFESSION.
You have to leave many things behind, everything has a price to pay, also being a coach has many joys, many extraordinary experiences.
It is a profession that everyone knows more than the coach, the two who talk in the corner bar, your cousin, your best friend, the hairdresser, they all know more than the coach. Everyone knows about Soccer, you are criticized or praised daily.
The former TOP player, the next day he stops playing soccer, is already better than you, who have been since you retired 15 years ago learning every day of this magnificent sport, learning to be a better coach, learning to control small details, to improve your strategy, your tactics, your essence, that is, I understand that with this fact, or this fashion of the (former TOP player, next day coach) respect for this beautiful profession is lost.
The best coaches are those who win titles, but nowadays, they must also have the best possible staff, they must have protocols, programs, habits, to create synergies between departments and staff members that allow, most importantly, to reach an optimal performance , and that the players have everything to achieve their maximum performance. But what does the former TOP player do, that the next day he gets a TOP bench, he brings his friends, who have played with him, and usually end up with sticks, like Valdes and Kluivert, in Barcelona or what is worse, that there are no discrepancies or professionalism and the performance does not arrive.
For me, success depends on many factors, above all on institutional tranquility, a good sports structure, common sense, and trained professionals, rowing towards the same side.
What do great coaches do? Regardless of the talent they have, they always take their teams beyond their performance, beyond excellence, they are capable of creating performance teams, and then small families, where good results and extraordinary experiences always await.
Therefore, to judge and identify excellent sports coaches, we have to look beyond wins, losses or statistics and explore some less quantifiable factors.
Players have very different opinions on what it takes to be a good coach, but most will be able to name a coach who had the most influence on their career and explain why. For players, getting the perfect coach can be vital to their career development.
There are coaches who perform a good training session, but those who lead, stimulate, motivate and help develop players today, it is not enough to do it tactically or technically, mentally and physically, but must go further. , from invisible training, creating different individual and collective performance programs that facilitate players to have a balance between body and mind, improve their emotional intelligence in addition to having better emotional control every day. For example, nutrition programs, improvement of physical preparation outside of group training, mindfulness programs, rest programs, individual scouting programs, and a long etc …
The coach must have credibility, and this does not come from having played in the elite, it comes from helping the players to find solutions, for their individual improvement, and also collectively, it comes from understanding that in the small details there are often the big differences They arrive because they are a creator of leaders, and for this they must set an example, they cannot go out at a press conference and criticize the players. You must have a positive and winning mindset at all times.
Good coaches have to have the ability to inspire, motivate and give their players enough confidence so that they overcome themselves in the most adverse situations and there are no recipes, it is a matter of personality, intuition, to achieve the right correct key that turns the game around, and sicegentlemen this is called experience.
Since 15 years ago, when I started my coaching career, i saw like a player who had won the champions, came to the club, and having finished his career, he came to start to be a coach and he was ignored. Serious mistake, I believe that former TOP players start their careers with a couple of advantages more than a coach who has only played in the third division as a player, but this dont make you a professional expert, is only the beginning.
The first is the respect the former TOP PLAYERS have form the players and the second is the sporting experiences at the highest level with great coaches. But from there, without any experience they start training, I assure you one thing, that even winning, because winning depend on many factors, they should not make mistakes as much in the elite as they make mistakes every week, first because mistakes at this level they cost a lot of money, and secondly, because they are no longer players, and are the actual players, the ones that must be respected the most, so they must have the best conditions to get their best version, having the better coaches, the better staff, the better facilities, the better conditions to achive their goals.
